The 2019 Acura ILX has the best power to weight ratio in its category, making it quick to react. To launch the updated ILX we dismissed conventional media and created a mobile first campaign where the vehicle reacts as you move your mobile device.
The experience involved using your phone as a means to control the car. You turn your phone left and the ILX would turn left. By combining these phone movements (measured by the accelerometer and gyroscope) with shader transitions, we were able to create an interactive experience that would seamlessly switch between different video cuts when you moved your phone.
