Acura | Beat That the Game

“Beat That” the Game is a mobile racing game based on the Acura brand commercial, “Beat That.” In the game, players race through Acura’s past, present and future in some of the brand’s most iconic cars. After completing their lap, players can challenge friends, family and foes to try and beat their time.

Beat That the Game was the first ever mobile racing game in which the visuals in each level matched the visuals that were prevalent in games from the specific car’s era. As the levels progressed, so did the treatment of both graphics and music, showcasing Acura’s role in pop culture and their 35 year history as a performance brand.

When the pandemic hit the whole world was put in park, car dealerships were closed, and people were stuck at home with nothing to do. People were gaming more than ever, and in an effort to bring people together digitally, when they couldn’t connect physically, we introduced a 1v1 mode, where our fans could race each other in real-time.
